For the past few days I’ve been working on building a aurfboard shaping bay in my friend’s basement! We thought it would be cool to build the whole thing in an environmentally and economically friendly way, using only handtools! I spent a couple nights all by myself hand sawing, and nailing cedar planks of wood.
First we put up a blue tarp, stapling it to the ceiling, walls etc, so none of the dust from the sanding process would seep into the rest of the basement. Then up went the siding. Its actually quite nice and it really didn’t take that long.
The whole experience made me wonder why people no longer use hand tools… only the fast and the furious cut it in today’s society I suppose. Its euphemistic for the loss of patience in modern society. Just some random thoughts I’ve been thinking.
Today is Hayley’s 22nd B-day! She’s spending it chilling on the westcoast. Believe it or not, the sun is actually shining.
Hayley is now sponsored by Cole Clark Guitars. The Fat Lady guitar received yesterday is beautiful, magnificient sounding, and will from now on be #1 traveling buddy. Thank you Cole Clark Guitars!
