After the initial shock, I realized I had no idea what to do or where to go. We’d been planning this for months. But I do think everything happens as its meant to whether or not we know why its happening at the time. So, one thing led to another and I’m heading to Seattle tomorrow, then up to Vancouver Island for a week. I’m excited to finally see my family and maybe chop wood, record some new songs….Lots of fun to be had. Even more excited to see my dad dress up as Santa Clause at the local Christmas fair. I’ll be sure to post pictures.

Due to the fact that there aren’t any autumn leaves to kick around, I’ve decided to turn over a few in my own world. Main leaf to kick over = worrying. Guess I’ve kind of tried for a while, but I’m really going to make an effort to reduce the time I spend on worrying. Been thinking about it lately. We spend all this time worrying about things, worrying about dying, and really in the end it’s the worrying that’s killing us. Doesn’t make things any better! When I was fifteen and I got to interview the Dalai Lama that was one of the main points he made; that if you can’t fix it or change it, what is the point in worrying about it. Doesn’t do any good! When you put it all in perspective, stress and worrying really doesn’t solve any situation. Only scratches at the surface till its swollen and worse than before. I’m really good at worrying. I guess its part of being an artist or perfectionist. You analyze things, try to understand things, try to fix things. Maybe the key is just letting go and laughing a bit more. Nothing better than laughing at yourself. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. I biked into a telephone poll on my way to Pilates this morning. Pretty classy. Not exactly sure how I managed to do it. I bet its going be a heavy leaf to flip and its probably going to take a lifetime. But I’m going to try!

There was this interview with one of the world’s oldest ladies that I read when I was younger. Looked for it today but couldn’t find it. They asked her how she thought she lived so long. And she said she did absolutely everything wrong; she smoked, drank, ate hot dogs and greasy food. But attributed her old age to one extremely healthy habit – she would worry really hard for twenty minutes every day. Try to shove in all the worrying she could. Worry real, real hard. And then, she wouldn’t allow herself the luxury of stressing or worrying for the rest of the day. Kind of gets you to thinking, doesn’t it?

Anyways, in case I get gobbled up by the next couple days of overeating, I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving!!! I will be posting some new Christmas songs next week. Hopefully you will enjoy them over the holiday season.

Drove down to meet up with the girls at O’Neill Clothing yesterday which was great! We are going to be designing a t-shirt together which I’ll be selling as merchandise on tour. I’m very excited to be donating all the proceeds to the Surfrider Foundation, helping to protect the beautiful oceans and the marine life in it. I’ll post some concepts as we come up with them.

Just off to another meeting now. Three more meetings, an audition and then a show tonight… Lots of coffee. Too much coffee. Daylight savings and jet lag combined is a knock out combination.
